[5/31/2013 1:33:43 AM] Brett Keane: You plan on making another cap video to appease your immature friends?
[5/31/2013 10:05:41 AM] Michael Clifton: I do it for me. If I were trying to appease friends I would have stopped when I realized the recap series lost me friends like Alex (Al1980X, AllBabies AreRapists)
I have fun doing it, but more than that I see value in it beyond what others (and obviously you) see.
[5/31/2013 10:06:29 AM] Brett Keane: No, I don't see. You admitted in my live room you were a part of a flagging group.
[5/31/2013 10:06:41 AM] Brett Keane: The video is on my site
[5/31/2013 10:15:41 AM] Michael Clifton: Yep. In December of 2010 I was part of a group that flagged IG. I also in that same video on your site say that that was the LAST flag of it's nature that I would ever do because reflecting on it helped to galvanize my anti-flagging stances.
Dead set on seeing me as the bad guy today?
[5/31/2013 10:16:57 AM] Brett Keane: nope, just have a hard time undertstanding you. tired of being accussed of bullshit and then having a friend putting that idea in peoples head.
[5/31/2013 10:17:10 AM] Brett Keane: accused
[5/31/2013 10:25:10 AM] Michael Clifton: I also would find it easier to wade through flags if my firends were not involved in some way with the flags, either as victims or as the accused.
I also observe that flagging in the periphery of your channel (videos about you) could be it's own category to rival other categories each week do to the regular volume. There are a few guys out there that obsess over you (like bismarket, Ben Kelly, Jack Sparrow) that continuously upload the same videos about you that have been flagged sown 20 times before. Their behavior accounts for a noticeable percentage of all the flagging on YouTube. An honest and clinical approach to the problem in search of a solution would not ingnore this.
[5/31/2013 10:25:53 AM] Brett Keane: you know damn well these people accuse me of shit so they can keep drama going
[5/31/2013 10:32:06 AM | Edited 10:33:48 AM] Michael Clifton: When I set out on this journey, I decided I would not take sides like EdibleNapalm did. I decided to report the flags as they happened and let the chips fall wherever they do. I have already lost friends over the decision to treat everyone in a fair manner, and I expect to lose more as people continue to get butthurt over me treating their enemies as human beings for the purposes of my analysis. What makes that kind of loss of friends easier to deal with is that I feel that each one is an investment in my own principles.
I get just as much shit from friends I've had for years telling me "you know damn well" that Brett Keane is a bad person and unworthy of mention.
[5/31/2013 10:35:13 AM] Brett Keane: It's not about being butthurt. These users attack me and then you confound their claims by linking their harassing channels. You endorsed Nick when you knew you caused HC shit loads of trouble. I don't see you as some white knight. I see you as a shit disturber. i need a friend not a person who generates drama for subs and views.
[5/31/2013 11:08:07 AM] Michael Clifton: You see me as a shit disturber when I tell you I have other intentions. I saw the drama about Mr. Bravo as smearing me as a pedo-promoter retaliation for mentioning him in a context that treated him in an unbiased fashion, but you and Cabbie do not feel this is the case. We clearly have communications and trust issues.
I've said repeatedly that my observations do not amount to endorsement, but you continue to repeat that assertion.
You characterization of my actions as being not those that a friend would carry out is not unique. It is par for the course as people find themselves made uneasy by my attempts at a clinical and unbiased look at flagging with this series. What is unique about it is normally people are attempting to tug at my heartstrings to stop "promoting Brett Keane by mentioning him".
Were I actually view-whoring as you suggest, I think it's hard to believe that I wouldn't just make 3 minute videos about each drama I find rather than recap every flag no matter how small or boring over an entire week.
[5/31/2013 11:08:43 AM] Michael Clifton: I have to clear out a storage unit I bought yesterday. Back in the evening.
[5/31/2013 12:10:01 PM] Brett Keane: The reality is you chose to put up the preteen links. You made yourself look odd.
[5/31/2013 12:11:24 PM] Brett Keane: Tired of typing...call me if you feel like chatting

[12:06:13 AM] Michael Clifton: If you still don't understand the context of why I include links to innappropriate things
[12:08:49 AM] Michael Clifton: (like I have for a year before suddenly people are scrambling to make me the bad guy) then I'm just going to conclude that you chose to not understand
[12:42:33 AM] Brett Keane: Nothing to understand. Like you said your losing friends. Clearly you're doing something wrong by your own admittance.
[1:36:48 AM] Michael Clifton: Read what I wrote again. I chose principle over popularity. That's no admission of wrongdoing in my book.
